Note: Model above is incorrect, would not let me select RBK50 I have an RBR50/RBS50 setup that I am trying up put into service.It is running V1.1.0.16. I am trying to do the first stage manual update to RBS50-V2.2.1.212, but when I hit upload it spins for a while, then returns:This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product. Is there another interim update I need to install first?

You are correct that the Release Notes state that versions up to 2.1.2.210 require updating to 2.1.2.210 first. That was because back in 2016 when the Orbi was designed, nobody though the firmware file would grow as large as it did, and there was a "maximum file size" hard coded into the firmware update process. 2.1.2.212 was released specifially for the purpose of increasing that file size limit.

Are you trying to update by connecting to the router "Firmware Update" web page or connecting to the satellite "Firmware Update"?

  I am logged into the web interface on the router.
  Browse to the unzipped .img file for the satelite and click upload.
