Orbi disconnecting on Cox modem Arris SB8200
Bought the Orbi in 2017 and set it up in October 2017. Now it is June 2018 and for the past month I have been experiencing frequent disconnects from the internet. Can be resolved by reseting Orbi or simple power cycle, but frankly, this shouldn't be required. It should be set and forget.
I cannot explain the sudden/recent change in behavior of the router. I do not use another router so I cannot set it to an AP setting... like the verizon FIOS users can.
My ISP is Cox in Southern California.
No firmware updates are showing in the portal...
Any suggestions on what to do with the ORBI to keep it from its frequent disconnects?

Ensure your using good quality LAN cabling. CAT6 recommended. Swap cables and test. Don't use the cable that came in the box with the Orbi. Shortest cable length possible.
Can you still access the routers web page when this happens?
Both wireless and wired connections?
Any other wifi neighbors near by? If so, how many?
What FW version is currently loaded on the system?
You can get most current version here:
Try a factory reset and set up from scratch after upgrading if you do upgrade.

Thanks for the feedback/recommendations.
These disconnects started to happen very recently. The Orbi had been in place, with cables and up to date firmware for many months. I have not changed the modem or cables since it was initially set up.
The orbi is reachable via wife or cabled input - i can go to the setup website or use my mobile app to reset the router and all is fine - for a while.
Based on this, I have to think that there is something on the upstream side, coming either from teh internet or from the modem that are causing it to hiccup and disconnect. Perhaps a firewall between the Orbi and the modem will filter out these events and let the router do its thing...
I will do the full reboot and reconfiguration/setup as you suggest to see if that has an impact.

What channels are you using? Try manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz.
Also try disabling MIMO, Daisy Chain and Fast Roamng.

I had it on Auto for the channels, but now switched it to channel 6 per your recommendation. I turned off the Backhaul Daisy Chaining. MIMO and Fast Roaming were already off.
I have neighbors and I can see their SSIDs... we live in a moderately dense neighborhood - houses are about 20 feet apart. Everyone has wifi....

Ok, see if the setting of manual channel helps any. You maybe in a wifi congested area.
One thing you can do is to set the power on the radios from 100 to 75% and see if this helps any as well. You'll have to move any satellites a bit closer if you do this as the range will be reduce by the change...
