Orbi RBK-53 AC3000 Mesh system - Internet access interruptions after latest update V2.7.2.104

Till I updated to the latest firmware V2.7.2.104, everything was OK with using ACL. Now, randomly ACL will stop all internet access (errors like certificate cannot be trusted, etc). The 1st time, I turned off ACL, removed all the devices and brought them back in 1 by 1 and everything seemed to be OK. I figured it was a one-off. Then it happened again, and again, and again. Now I've figured a workaround. Turn ACL OFF, Apply, and then Turn ACL ON again. But this cannot be a sustaining situation. What is Netgear gonna do about this?

  • ACL? not sure what specifically you're referencing.

    There has been numerous complaints on the forums about the .104 firmware. the work around is to disable day light savings time and the traffic  monitor. Then reboot your device. I'd try that option.

    Or you can downgrade the firmware a version.

    • ACL - Access Control List. Where you can specifically allow or block devices.

      Typical process: you provide folks the SSID and password. Once they connect, you need to go into the router portal 19.2.168.1.0 or whatever... and then "Allow" the device to connect. Essentially this is a 2 step authentication.

      You can access the ACL from 2 places:

      1. Advanced --> Security --> Access Control

      2. Basic --> Home --> Attached Devices --> Click on "Go to Access Control to allow or block devices" on the top-right side

      Hope that helps / SM

        Fully realize what the access control is.
        Just wasn't sure what exactly you were abbreviating. Always safe to check. 👍
  • Perform a full factory reset on both router and satellite(s) then set up from scratch.

      Why does your response not mention V2.7.2.104?

      Will try that as the last resort, I suppose. Thanks.

        Let us know how it goes. Be sure to disable Traffic Meter after the factory reset. Just don't enable it.
