Orbi RBR50 flashing red when trying to reset
My Orbi RBR50 router stopped working suddenly and can’t get my home WIFI working anymore. Have wasted about 2hrs+ now trying to troubleshoot and reset up everything as a new system repeatedly resetting all my satellites and router. The router does not reset and give the normal amber color to the power led, but instead flashes 3 blinking red lights and then back to green. Does this mean the router is dead?

How long are you pressing the reset button for? 15 seconds then release should do.
You can try this and see if the RBR will recover:

Try the installed Windows TFTP program as well.
If this fails, you'll need to contact NG support for additional help and information.

I’m holding the reset button for at least 30-40 sec, if not longer, before anything happens. That’s when I get the red flashing light. I never see the amber light show up. It didn’t matter when I held it for 10 or 60 seconds, it just keeps flashing the white light from the top and I can’t get any signal to connect to in my WIFI.15 seconds is max to press the button.
Try the recovery to see if this might get it working, if no, make contact with NG support.

Thank you for posting this solution FURRYe38 . I've been banging my head against a wall trying to bring my Orbi satellite back to life and your post saved the day. Much appreciated!
Glad it worked.
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

I got a brand new Orbi RBR50 from netgear.com directly. During setup, I chose update firmware thinking that will make more router more secure. But it ended up in exactly the same state as you after I waited 45 minutes hoping the firmware update will complete. I spent the whole day troubleshooting and talking with 2 different netgear support rep. In my case, even TFTP failed for my router. They recommend I return the unit and get a refund.
- BKYGEARTutorSorry to hear. I never got mine to work after hours of troubleshooting. My unit was past its warranty time, and ultimately I had to purchase a new one too. Very disappointing considering how expensive the units are compared to other brands.
Did you try to recover the RBR by chance using this process?

- eakwilTutorFor over a week OrbiRBR50 has dropped internet on all devices that have an Operating system. Laptop, desktop, cell phones, ipad . This happened once or twice a day. My smart tvs would continue working. Strange. I would reboot modem, Orbi and everything would connect. Verified that it was not modem by connecting ethernet directly to pc.so I tried resetting the Orbi thinking this would fix. This morning the red light issue started and I tried resetting several times with nothing. There goes 30 hours of my life that I will never get back. Purchased Orbi July 2019 at Costco. So my $300 Netgear router/Orbi lasted about 1.5 years. No more Netgear for me.

Agreed. 1.5 years and dead. Most I've ever paid for a router and will NEVER buy Netgear products again. Unreliable and lousy customer service.
