ORBI RBR50 Port Forwarding issues
Have set Port Forwarding on Port 90 to view my CCTV Box which is working.
However, the Router appears to close this Port intermittently for no reason. I have ran Port Open Scanner Test and the Port status is closed, normally it is open.
Have rebooted the Router but the problem remains.
Please can anyone help?

Ports are open only when being used. Be sure the port is being used before testing the port condition.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What Firmware version is currently loaded?

As far as I know the Port is being used because it is a Live Stream of my CCTV Cameras.
it was working and then for no reason after about a week it went off line for several days then it came back on all by itself.
There was never a problem with my old Router (Virgin Superhub 3) , however, I did need to set the IP address to DMZ mode.
So the ISP is Virgin Media Broadband (UK) and the Router/Modem is a Virgin Super Hub 3 set to Modem Mode.
Orbi Firmware Version is : V2.7.2.104.

As FURRYe38 mentioned, port forwarding only takes place when the target device is accepting connection requests.
Is there a way to verify from the LAN that port 90 on the CCTV box is accepting connections?
It is frustrating that web resources that scan for open ports cannot detect that a router has forwarded a connection request. They can only detect a response from the target device that has passed back through the router. If the port scanner reports 'open' part of the time and 'closed' part of the time, there may be an issue with the CCTV box.
If the port never reports 'open', that would be an indication that there is a router ahead of the Orbi that is not allowing connection attempts to reach the Orbi. Since the original post speaks of seeing the port 'open', this is not likely.

Thanks for your reply.
I am not sure how to verify port 90 is accepting connections, do I need to Ping this? If so how?
The Port has shown an open connection when the system was working, but for some reason it appears the Port has been closed by itself?? It is or was an intermittent problem but now it seems to be always closed. ( one week and counting)
The CCTV Box was never a problem with my Old Router (Virgin Super Hub 3), however, to get it working I needed to set the IP address to DMZ mode.
Also, the CCTV Box connects to the Orbi Router via an `Ethernet Cable (if this helps).
thanks.

Can you use the same method that is used remotely, only to it from within the Orbi LAN?
(The problem is that I do not know how you access the CCTV feed remotely. Web browser? Software package?.)
If, for example, access is by opening a web page, such as http://<public IP address>:90
Then try this http://<local IP of CCTV box>:90
In the US, the vast majority of residential customers get dynamic IP addresses from their Internet Service Provider, which means that the ISP can change the IP address at any time without any warning. The way we deal with the uncertainty is to sign up with a Dynamic DNS service (and pay them) so that a specific domain name will always point to the public IP even if it has changed. When I connect to crimpon.myNetgear.com, that gets converted to my current public IP address. Without using DDNS, then I have to check every time, "Has my public IP address been changed?"
