LM1200 falling back to WAN issue
I realized the post I made was in response to a topic that was marked as resolved, so starting a new thread.
Just bought the LM1200 and done the following:
- running latest firmware (NTG9X07C_20.06.09.00)
- Spectrum gigabit service plugged into LM1200 WAN
- Google Fi data SIM activated and working (confirmed by plugging a laptop directly into the LM1200)
- LM1200 LAN plugged into Edgerouter-4, Omada switches/WAP
- Bridge mode
- Setup failover as automatic
I just did a test by turning off the cable modem, and the network transitioned over to LTE. However, when I turn the cable modem back on, the transition back did not happen. I also noticed that I was not able to access the LM1200 admin portal during this time. Once I reboot the LM1200 by pulling/reconnecting the power, it then switched back to cable modem.

- mbill002AspirantHave you found any solution? I am facing the same issue. The modem switches to LTE when the cable line goes down or I turn off the cable modem. But when it comes back, it does not switch back to wireline nor it stays with LTE - the line just stays down.
- danlo315TutorNo I have not. I also just experienced a weird bug where my modem looked fine but the LM1200 just disconnected the main line and did not kick in LTE. This lasted about 2 minutes before it came back online. I will probably have to invest in utilizing my Edgerouter 4's failover instead of using LM1200's failover.
- mbill002AspirantUnfortunately thats not an option for me since my router is not dual wan. My option would be to go for a tplink modem + er605 type router with failover combo. The combined price of these two is similar to the LM1200

I am having the exact same issue. I would have replied to your thread with my scenario but I posted a new topic here:
Basically yeah. Works fine on LTE. But switch back to modem and nothing happens. I even get an SMS that the LM1200 switched back to "wireline" -- but my Orbi router still doesn't work.
I tried rebooting the LM1200 with just the cable modem plugged into the WAN. And I tried rebooting the Orbi router. Still nothing. I can only get Internet to come across to the LAN side if the LM1200 is connected to LTE only.
- danlo315TutorUnfortunately I had to give up using the LM1200 for failover purpose. I ended up using my Ubiquiti Edgerouter 4's multi WAN failover functionality instead.
- mopokeAspirantI am having the same issue with my lm1200. The failover to the wireless internet works fine but switching back to the wireline fails. Power cycling the lm1200 brings it back.
This makes the device completely useless for the purpose for which I bought it. Is there any way of fixing it or do I need to return ?- danlo315TutorUnfortunately it doesn't seem like it, as Netgear reps aren't replying to this post. However I can't find a similar product that does failover.
- mbill002AspirantHere is what I ended up doing. Purchased a edgerouter-X for $59 (available on their website). Using it as my main router in dual wan failover setup. Also, there is another bug in lm1200 that makes it reboot randomly if you have verizon sim in bridge mode. So I had to switch to router mode. With my cable modem connected to primary wan and lm1200 to secondary wan of the edgerouter and a little bit of configuration, the setup is now working without any issues.
