MH7150 M7 not accepting my eSIM
Hello, just bought a M7 to use a eSIM from Free (working fine on my iPad Pro). Whatever with QR code or manual configuration, the installation of the eSIM is not working.
i would like to use it according to the big data associated to it in different countries.
as mentioned this is fine on my iPad.
Any clue how to make it work ?
The M7 is running the latest firmware.
thanks for your support

Hello, I have the exact same problem with my eSIM from Free (french operator).
When I try to add it via the NETGEAR App through the QRcode it fails, asking me to retry or cancel.
The other problem is that this eSIM (failed to be added) seems to keep one of the 7 eSIM "slots" in the router, with no way to delete it.
I tried multiples factory resets but it doesn't reset the eSIM chip
I hope for a NETGEAR firmware update that fixes those issues :)

Hi Ludovic,
If your M7 isn’t accepting the Free eSIM, try these:
- Make sure the M7 supports the required eSIM profile and bands.
- Double-check the QR code or manual configuration.
- Try resetting the network settings or doing a factory reset.
- Confirm with Free that your M7’s IMEI is registered for eSIM activation.
Sometimes the carrier needs to push the eSIM profile to the device before it will activate.

Hi,
If your eSIM works on your iPad Pro but not on the M7, the issue is usually related to eSIM compatibility or carrier support rather than the QR code itself.
A few things you can check:
- Carrier compatibility – Some eSIM profiles from Free are optimized for phones/tablets (like iPad) and may not activate on other devices such as the M7.
- Device eSIM support – Even with the latest firmware, some devices only support specific eSIM providers or data-only profiles.
- Try manual activation again – Remove any previous failed profile, restart the device, and scan the QR code again.
- Contact Free support – Ask if the eSIM profile is compatible with the M7 device type. Some carriers lock profiles to certain device categories.
If the eSIM works perfectly on your iPad but fails on the M7, it’s very likely a device compatibility limitation with the carrier profile rather than a configuration mistake.

Have you requested a new QR code/eSIM? Some providers have single use QR codes/eSIMs

I've got the MH7150 and I've used it with Lyca and Tello for physical sims and then just the esim marketplace

Not all sims support hotspot plans. Some only work with phones/tablets. Did you check with Free to see what they support with their plans?
