802.1AS support in M4300

Hello,

Does the M4300 series (and specifically M4300-24x) support or plan to support the gPTP clock sync protocol defined in 802.1AS?

I have found no documentation of this feature apart form 802.1AS standard reference in https://www.netgear.com/images/datasheet/switches/M4300-24X-48X.pdf

If supported or planned, could you indicate:

  • which FW version supports the feature?
  • is it compliant to IEEE802.1AS-REV?
  • does it support 1-step or 2-step operation?
  • where can I find full documentation of the feature

Thanks a lot!

Elad.

    Elad6L,

As far as I have checked, the M4250 Series Switch Models supports gPTP.  Be informed that you need to purchase an AVB license (sold separately) to use gPTP.

Kindly check the M4250 series Data Sheet on this link.  Check pages 12, 44 and 45 wherein gPTP is mentioned.

      Thank you DaneA.

What about M4300? can gPTP  be supported there (even with additional license)?

      Regards,

      Elad
