after installing a new fs116 switch it will allow laptop to connect but not printer.

after installing a new fs116, my laptop will connect but none of my printers will, even connecting to the same port with the same cable that the laptop was hooked up with.  Printers will connect when connected to a port on the router

    Hello lufs,

    Welcome to the community!

We'll have to look at on how you have connected the devices. The FS116 is only a passthrough switch and does not have a DHCP server function. One main reason a device is not connecting is it does not have an IP address. Make sure that you have the devices connected in this sequence, Modem>Router>Switch>Computers/Printers.

Let us know if this helps.

    Thanks,
