EOL Network Switches

Hi

Please, could you say me if FSM726 V2H2 is EOL?

And/or when ?

If EOL, it's replaced by ?

Thanks

  • Hi PCLease,

The FSM726v2h2 switch is already EOL.  If ever you are looking for a Fully-Managed Switch, I suggest you the M4300 series switch models.  To know more about the M4300 series switches, kindly access the link below:

  • EoL in which aspect? The FSM726V2H2 was launced in 2006, and there were no updates for a while.

Doubt there is any (volume) market for Fast Ethernet managed switches anymore today. What management features (AFAIK there were not many on these models) do you need?

PS. At least, these are not marked EoL yet in the community system yet. ChristineT please check and update.

The links on the firmware release notes are pretty much dead, too

      FSM726v2 Firmware Selection Instructions

There are 2 different hardware revisions of FSM726 V2 -

      FSM726 V2H1 (Hardware revision #1) & FSM726 V2H2 (Hardware revision #2)

You can identify the revision of your FSM726 V2 from the product serial number:

      • FSM726 V2H1 Serial number starts with "171", e.g., 171xxxxxxxxx
      • FSM726 V2H2 Serial number starts with "1BV", e.g., 1BVxxxxxxxxx

Important alert before choosing the firmware:

      • FSM726 V2H1 and FSM726 V2H2 have different internal hardware components.
      • FSM726 V2H2 ships with 1.1.0_0324 by default.
      • Do NOT downgrade FSM726 V2H2 firmware to any of the 1.0.x versions.

      Hi Schumaku

For the management of obsolescence, i just have to know if this switch is always available(not EoS) and it seems not.

The replacement product must be manageable and have about 16 100/1000 RJ45 ports.

I think that JGS516 or GS716 (if I need HTTPS) are suitable.

      I DaneA

Thank's for the response. It will be replaced therefore.

As I said to Schumaku, I just need a basic managed switch because I think that the used management features were basic.
