Fibre link on XS swtiches
I currently have an XS748T switch at one location and an XS708T swtich at another. I have linked the two via a fibre connection on a port (using 1GB SFP). I have setup the port on each end to be on the same VLAN (as well as some other devices on different ports on the same VLAN on each switch). I am unable however to pass traffic between the switches across the fibre link (one device is unable to pin another on the other switch). If I look at the port statistics on each switch I can see the 1GB interface is showing as up but I am only seing trasmit packets on that port at each end.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jon

Hi Jon,
Haven't plugged by accident the 10Gbase-T ports shared with the SFP+ ports to some other devices?
Which SFP modules make/models are plugged to the XS748T and the XS708T SFP+ ports? If some modules are SFP+, and others are SFP, the fiber link can't be properly established, as there is no speed and mode negotiation on SFP/SFP+/fiber links.

Thanks for your response.
The 708 has shared ports but 748 has its own ports. There is nothing sharing so I think it may be some sort of SFP issue as sugegsted although to be fair they are the same brand. I will try some different ones.

Perfectly correct - the XS748T Web Tech Specs are wrong (datahseet is OK).
It's very interesting to read about what SFP or SFP+ modules users installed. These switches don't check the SFP module IDs, so everything can become workable.
