GS108Tv2 disable a port
Is it possible to disable a port on a GS108Tv2 SmartSwitch? I've looked in the obvious settings with no luck.
In Switching -> Ports -> Port Configuration ... select the port to disable, select the Admin Mode from Enabled to Disabled and [Apply] as seen in the RT*M:
Not a secret, and worth mentioning - in case you are using a modern browser, sone of the controls might be invisible (as in the left browser window on the attached screenshot). Use e.g. an Internet Explorer - other browsers like Chrome, Firefox or Edge don't render it (here e.g. a GS510TP btw.).
bradleyv LaurentMa how is it possible the legacy UI (many devices were or are still in the sales channel) was not fixed for current browsers? Several other controls are not properly working anymore here - ways beyond of the Java based Device View. Pretty poor maintenance.... Not everybody has systems with IE at hand!
PS: Using the Maitenance Tab does revert to the main switch view here, System -> Management -> System Information ... which does not load either.

Yep, tried that first. The port showed up as 'Disabled', but the laptop I had connected to the port I disabled could still get to the internet. I'm looking for a way to disable the port so devices attached to it can't connect. - gdwiley007Aspirant
I was using Chrome and that was the problem. When I disabled port g8 by changing the Admin Mode from Enabled to Disabled and applied it, the Admin Mode showed Disabled but the Link Status still showed Link Up. I switched to Safari, and everything worked as it should.
Who the hell writes this stuff? There's more than one browser platform out there in the world...- schumakuGuru - Experienced User
Thank you for the confirmation. Commonly Safari (macOS) resp. IE (Windows) are fine with th old "legacy" Netgear switch Web UI (still on new switches on the distributor shelves and on maintenance!). There are several shortcomings, common pain is also the dot1q VLAN management, some essential parts of the Web UI are often not visible when using modern browers.
I hope Negear does pick up and update the UI code accordingly ... LaurentMa and bradleyv nice pleeeease.
