gs516tp vlan help

I could use some help.  Im new to setting up VLANS.  I have a location were I need to send two separate VLANS over a wireless bridge.  Im have 2 new gs308t order but Im trying to learn how to set this up on some gs516tp's I saved.   I have created two VLANS.  VLAN 4 AND VLAN 5. I have 1-8 set as untagged on VLAN 4 and 16 set as tagged.  VLAN 5 I have ports set 9-15 set to untagged and 16 tagged.  In the PVID I have 1-8 set to 5 and 9-15 set to 5.  VLAN 4 is set the managed VLAN.  Both switches are set the same.  I connect both switches on port 16(my trunk).  One switches ip 192.168.31.253 and the other is .254.  I have 2 laptops setup to test the vlans. From either VLAN 4 I can ping both switches but I cant ping either laptop from across the trunk of from the trunk or within the same switch and VLAN.  Im not sure what I missing.

The configuration should be good for both switches. Did you remove the U/T ports on VLAN1? If the laptops can communicate from within the switch it should be good with the trunk port setup for both switches. Have you tried rebooting both switches? or verify the trunk port is working or the cable is good.
