GSM7224v2 crashing
I've got a number of GSM7224v2 switches that just recently started occasionally crashing and restarting. These are running older firmware. Does anyone know if the most recent firmware updates for t...

That is probably very sound advice. Would the M4300 be the most logical model to replace with? Or do you have recommendations of other models?
Thanks!

Hmm, looking at the M4300 that doesn't look like what I'd need. I need an equivalent 24 port gigabit managed switch to the GSM7224v2. Any reason not to go with one of the Smart Managed Pro models, such as the GS324T? Thanks again!

Hi
It depends on your needs to be honest. I for one have come to the conclusion that if I have to manage several switches that web UI only is really not scaling and becomes inefficient at a certain size. Honestly I wouldn't want to go back managing 24-Port smart / web managed switches by now.
The M4100 still seems to be actively marketed and costs a bit less because it only had SFP/1G uplinks, but it is not stackable (can further ease management) and did not have hot-plug power supplies.
Yes, the M4300 line costs more which is partially due to having 10G uplinks (SFP+ and/or 10GBASE-T), hotplug power supplies which can be made redundant by adding a second into the free second PSU slot and last but not least: stacking. Maybe consider a M4300-28G for the closest replacement if budget allows?
There are also some more recent models added to the M4300 family that support Multi-gigabit or NBASE-T which M4100 don't support at all.If you cannot afford the premium for a managed switch, at least get a Netgear smart managed "pro" one which should have most options of your current switch but not CLI. But if you have a couple of switches, CLI management is more efficient in my experience.
