GSM7228PS LAG Issues
Model: GSM7228PS V2 Firmware: 8.0.3.23 OS: Windows Hello all, I had a question about a LAG issue I'm having. I have the GSM7228PS with 2 LAGS set up. 1 is with both SFP+ ports running to ...

Hi Dpapacosta,
I find that the LAG Type is different between the GSM7228PS and the GS728T.
In GSM7228PS: the Static Mode is Disabled, which means that the LAG Type is LACP
In GS728T: the LAG Type is Static
So the LAG Type is different, and this different configuration is the reason why the LAG status is down.
So please set the LAG Type to LACP in the GS728T. And I think it will resolve your problem.
Good luck to you!
Best Regards

The module is an AGM731 on both switchs.

Hi Dpapacosta,
Let us isolate the problem. Since the LAG connection is working between the GSM7228PS and the XSM7224S, kindly try to set the LAG using other ports (other than ports 21/23 of the GSM7228PS) between the GSM7228PS and GS748T.
You may also try to swap the SFP modules you have used between the GSM7228PS and the XSM7224S with the SFP modules used between the GSM7228PS and GS748T to furhter isolate the problem.

Hello,
Thank you the suggestions. I've tried swapping the lag ports on booth switches, and swapping the SFP modules. I've also tried using standard copper connections as well, and the GS748T still won't connect.

Hi Dpapacosta,
I am not sure if this would help. Try to update the firmware of the GSM7228PS in a ladderized manner. Update the firmware from 8.0.25 to v8.0.3.28 then, from 8.0.3.28 to 8.0.3.34 and so on until you reach the latest firmware v10.0.0.53. Be reminded that its recommended to perform a factory reset after upgrading the firmware then reconfigure it from scratch.
Here is the link where you can download the firmware version for the GSM7228PS.
Also, upgrade the firmware of the GS748T if its not yet the latest version and this might help.

Firmwares have been upgraded to the lastest one. I did a factory reset on both and reconfigured. Still have the same issue. I think I may just do a work around.
