How to set JGS524Ev2 port to 1000/Full
Is it possible to set a port on my Switch to 1000/Full duplex? The reason being that a connected device is autonegotiating down to 100Mbps despite being capable of running at 1Gbps. I'm hoping that forcing the port to 1000Mbps will cause the device to configure and run at 1000Mbps. The options on the switch port only show up to 100/Full
As the connected device is a NAS device there's not a lot of configuration availabel in the UI.

Welcome to the community!
It's not possible to manually set a port to 1000Mbps/Full. If the speed is set to Auto then the linked speed should show "1000M Full" provided that the connected device is capable of such.
In your case, have you tried using a different Ethernet cable and/or a workstation? Also, is that the only device that establishes a 100Mbps connection?

- Here again, link negotiation is mandatory on copper Ethernet for speeds of 1000M and up. There is no "I want".
Problems with speed negotiation failures are bad adapters, poor drivers, bad wiring. - DSUK73Aspirant
Hi Jerald,
I've only got 2 devices that negotiate at 100/Full and they're both Buffalo LS220D Linkstation NAS drives which claim to be cabale of 1000/Full. no matter what port I plug them into they always come in at 100/Full. If I plug another devices into their dedicated ports it negotiates at 1000/Full so definitely something a bit weird with the Linkstations I think.
Thanks for your reply.
