I do not have a vlan on this switch, so should the 'show ip interface brief' display anything?
I thin it should and ith should have the IP address of the switch, right?

Also the source-interface is blank. I see no command either in the CLI reference or the Web interface to set this. How can this be set?

Yes.
We need a IP address to run this function between agent and receiver.
We need to setup a VLAN or physical routing interface with IP address for sFlow.
So please check the connection between M4100 and PRTG.
(such as:
1.Ping M4100 from PRTG. (Do next step if Ping is OK.)
2.Capture packets on PRTG network adapter filter with the IP address which used for M4100.(Do next step if sFlow packets received on PRTG)
3.Check PRTG software configuration.(please check software manual of PRTG)

Please backup the configuration file on M4100 before the next operation.
1.Save configuration.
2.Upload configuration to PC or MAC.
You can also upgrade M4100 to 10.0.2.x and then do a factory reset before deploy sFlow configuration.
It will make a VLAN interface that used for management interface also work with sFlow.
