M4300 - Firmware Issue
Hello,
I am wondering if someone can help with this issue I am having we have recently updated the firmware on our switches to 12.0.9.3 whcih are M4300 and have managed to do this on a majority of our switches successfully. However on this particular stack of switches one of the switches in the stack did not come up and upon investigation it showed a Non-Present in stack - I consoled into the problem switch and noticed that it was in a loop constantly rebooting I got into the Utility Menu and tried to revert back to the old firmware but the same problem kept on happening I managed to erase the configuration on the switch and removed switch from the stack configuration. The error that keeps popping up when booting up is "The System is restarting due to the inconsistent state -972685312 in the file: cardmgr_util.c line 1093".
I am just wondering if anyone else has came across this issue and if so any advice would be much appreciated.
kevin_hong Hello thanks for your response but I have managed to get this sorted through Netgear tech support the number that the error was displaying has been confirmed that the flash caused the issue - It was the only switch that when it was flashed to the latest firmware failed the other batch of switches so far have went successfully so hopefully 1 having the issue out of what we have isn't bad just an inconvience but the response from Netgear has been great.

Hi
No, I've only started rolling out 12.9.0.3 on unstacked M4300 so far, but I'll keep an eye out.
However definitely reach out to Netgear support since those have lifetime warranty. I've made good experience contacting. The forums are not closely monitored by Netgear support.
If you have access to a serial console, they might even ask for an XMODEM download of the support data (when was the last time I've used XMODEM in all these years?) which will help them replicating your specific issue.

msi Thank you for replying yea I think it is going to be a case of contacting Netgear support was just wondering if anyone had experienced an issue like this when upgrading firmware as I have done a alot of unstacked switches and just started hitting on the stacked ones so far it only seems to be the only switch that has had an issue so far maybe something was underlying and wasn't noticed but will keep going withthe firmware update and hopefully Netgear are able to help with this switch :)

Hi lchambers84,
Thank you for your feedback,
Could you please answer some of my questions for this issue?
1.Are you switch(M4300) stacked ? What M4300 models do you have?
2.Which version was upgrade to 12.0.9.3? any configuration on switch?
BTW: it would be better if you can provide Tech support file
Thank you
