M4300 & any licenses
Hi guys.
I'm new to Netgear - actually have not laid my hands on any Netgrear's switch yet - and I'm looking for a clarification to something trivial, I think.
Are M4300 crippled in any shape or form by some licensing scheme? You know, ports, functions, etc. - like some vendors do sometimes?
many thanks, L.

With the exception of the AVB License* enabling the network switch's built-in Audio Video Bridging (AVB) profile to connect to compatible equipment everything is included. All other major L2 and L3 features do not require any special license on the M4300 Series switches nor support contacts for regular firmware updates and are readily available.
*The AVB standard is designed to provide improved synchronization, reliability, and low-latency performance with switched Ethernet networks.
Have any special use in mind?

No special use, just a "regular" network switch.
I was hoping to be completely sure before any purchase. Not many vendors but I know one which out-of-box makes/made only half ports availble and the rest or higher-speed ports one must pay extra for - even though I'd still recommend them, I'm not a fan, actually am against these kinds of politics/policies.
On a side note. I wonder if Netgear could/would make/plan an upgrade of any 4300 to 25Gbps - if their hardware allows, that is.
Also, reading pdf specs I do not see clear note on 2.5Gb & 5Gb regarding specifically M4300-24X24F (on rj-45) - I wonder if anybody knows this model supports those?
many thanks, L.
Only select (read newer) M4300 models are coming with MultiGig support on the RJ45 ports. The big overview data sheet https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/datasheet/en/M4300.pdf makes always a good reference.
The Hardware at a Glance table shows the tech available on the ports:
Netgear has switches with higher link speed ports available. The M4500-48XF8C can be operated with 48x10G/25G SFP28 and 8x100G QSFP28 ports 8-)
