- Oct 03, 2018Hi All,
We have worked out the issue with Netgear Support. Turns out the Bonjour service is disrupting MDNS between the TX and RX.
Disabling the bonjour service fixed it.

Here's some PCAPs using different firmware 12.0.4.9 and 12.0.7.7: https://ufile.io/vwnha (can't upload them here)
This was done on a stack of M4300-52G-POE switches and includes a TechSupport dump
The switches are always in factory configuration
I have also tested firmware 12.0.7.8 today and the problem still exists.
You'll notice in the 12.0.7.7 the receiver is sending MDNS queries to 224.0.0.251 but never sees a response. In 12.0.4.9 the response is seen followed by a peer-to-peer TCP negotiation of metadata/keys and then video traffic starts flowing.
169.254.3.3 is the transmitter
169.254.6.7 is the receiver
225.0.100.3 is the multicast group the transmitter is sending traffic to and the receiver is trying to join

Hi VistaICT
Thank you for confirming the resolution of your issue.
For others in the Community, here are the explanations for disabling Bonjour, in case of a conflict between IGMP and mDNS packets.
- Using the Web GUI:
Disable Bonjour on M4300
- Navigate to System > Management > Bonjour > Bonjour Configuration.
- Set Admin Mode to Disable.
- Click the blue Apply button.
- Using the M4300 CLI:
User:admin
Password:
(M4300-switch) >en(M4300-switch) #configure
(M4300-switch) #no bonjour run
exitRegards,
