M4300 upgrading firmware from 12.0.17.12 to 12.0.19.4 best practice?

Q1. Is it possible to upgrade firmware from 12.0.17.12 to 12.0.19.4 or is it best to do incremental upgrades? don't want to brick the switch.
Q2. What happens if the switch fails to load firmware 12.0.19.4 located in (IMAGE2) will the Switch than RELOAD the previous firmware from (IMAGE1) 12.0.17.2 or will we need to force that procedure etc. What would be the procedure to bring things back online in case of a firmware failure?
