M5300-52G-POE+ // Port does not come up - Port programming failed with error 0x1 for event OPERATION

Hi Community,

 

I have a GSM7252PS switch which worked fine for some months now.

Since a few days the 10GBit/s uplink (via SFP AXM761) isn't coming up anymore.

We tried

- different SFP

- different patch-cable

- different fiber

on both ends.

The SFP is in port 49 - another SFP in port 50 is working without problems.

The switch is running the actual firmware release 11.0.0.23.

 

When looking into the switch log I see the following errors:

 

<13> Jan 2 06:22:47 Studio-ACC-SW1 (1)-1 TRAPMGR[trapTask]: traputil.c(735) 871 %% Link Up: 1/0/48
<11> Jan 2 06:22:40 Studio-ACC-SW1 (1)-1 BOXSERV[boxs Req]: boxs.c(1445) 870 %% 1/0/49 Port programming failed with error 0x1 for event OPERATIONAL. Port may not be Up.

 

Any idea what could be wrong and how this could be resolved?

    Welcome to NETGEAR community :smileyhappy:

     

    According to the error log just you mentioned.

    Maybe it's a hardware maturing or I2C missing.

     

    We will let you know the result after finishing code debugging locally. 

    So please try port 50 as temporary work around way.

    Could you please get important diagnosis information on GSM7252PS for us?

    You can Input following commands in CLI mode to get diagnosis information

     

    show environment

    show fiber-port optics-info all

    show fiber-port optics all

    show fiber-port optics-eeprom all

    show logging buffered
