Mcast flood with STP M4300
I am running several M4300-12X12F(XSM4324S) in ring topology with Edge Switch as leafs, when the EdgeSwitch's changes topology with each other, i receive Mcast flood in vlan 1 in Netgear ring.
Does anybody knows what exectly mean this comment in firmware images for all M4300 series
Known issues:
- Loop Protect functionality does not work if igmpsnooping is enabled.
And how this issue coresponds to STP leak described here:
It seems to me that disabling IGMP snooping with mac filter helps.
Currently we on the way to 12.0.2.20 firmware.

As I have reviewed, the known issue "Loop Protect functionality does not work if igmpsnooping is enabled." started on firmware v12.0.2.3 which was released way back November 2016. Since then it is included in the release notes up to the latest firmware v12.0.2.17. As far as I checked, this known issue mentioned in a few firmware release notes is not related to the STP leak mentioned in this KB article which was published June 2017.
The STP leak was caused by a 3rd party access point when connected to the network with switches and this KB article was created as a work around if ever a firmware fix is not yet available at that time for some NETGEAR switches. As of now, NETGEAR have already released a new firmware version to all NETGEAR switches (that are not yet EOL) in which the STP leak issue was addressed.
About Mcast flood you received in VLAN 1, kindly try to disable IGMP Snooping globally (as well as in the interfaces and VLANs) and check if it helps. Kindly read pages 225-229 of the M4300 Series user manual here on how to disable IGMP snooping.
