MS510TXPP Bricked?
Hello,
I purchased a secondhand MS510TXPP. When booting it up, the power light was a solid amber which led me to beleived the switch may be bricked.
None of the other ports would light up even when plugging other devices in. I was never able to log in to the default IP. Both the reset and Factory defaults buttons did nothing.
Every few minutes the fans would spin up to full which led me to believe the switch keeps restating.
After a lot of troubleshooting I was able to connect a serial cable to the "Not for customer use" port in the back and was able to access the switch that way.
I can see the switch tries to boot and then shows some errors and reboots.
During the boot up I get the option to press "X" for x modem. I have done this and tried to send several fifferent versions of firmware files for the switch. They seem to uplaod successfully but then the switch becomes stuck at u-boot.
Not sure what else I can try. Is there perhaps some sort of recovery firmware available that I can try to send via xmodem?
Press x to choose XMODEM...

Try a terminal emu like the legacy Hpyerterm or the Open Source Tera Term via https://ttssh2.osdn.jp/index.html.en (use the GitHub link).
Download the current firmware and unpack the .zip archive.
Start the xmodem upload from the console by using the X, then start upload the firmware image by the xmodem protocoll (currently MS510TX_TXPP_V6.7.0.52.bin).
Good luck, and have fun!
- homerfanInitiateThanks for the reply.
That was exactly what I tried. As you can see from the code block in my original message, the file upload completes and then get stuck at u-boot.
I have tried every firmware file on the website. They all upload fine but then get stuck at U-boot.
