Multicast video between netgear switches

I have a one VLAN (5) connected with a single port (port 1) LAG between a M5300 and a GS752. I have no issues pinging computers when they are connected to different switches.

On the M5300 I have multicast video and there is no issue joining the multicast when I am connected to M5300. I have IGMP snooping enable and the querier is enabled and working.

However when I have a computer connected to the GS752 with a PVID of 5. I am unable to join any multicast traffic on the M5300. On the GS752 the MFDB Table shows the multicast address with VLAN 5 on the port I am connected but it does not show the LAG (po 1).

On the M5300 I have IGMP global configuration enabled

I currently have another GS752 with multicast traffic that can be joined via a LAG to another switch.

  • Mr Robinson,
    I have a few questions.

If you have 2 PC's, one on each switch, and on a "untagged " port in vlan 5, can they ping each other?
You say LAG. That is different from Trunking.
Is port 1 handling Vlan 5 traffic only, or other Vlans?

If the former, port 1 is "U", with PVID=5.
If the latter, it needs to be "T" for tagged in Vlan 5.

I can't answer re Multicast at the moment.
Can you advise firmwares of both M5300 and GS switch types.?

    Thanks Marto.
