netgear gs108tv3 vlan and routing
Hi
What is possible for my desired outcome
Port1 - VLAN1
Port2 & 3 - VLAN10
Port 4 & 5 - VLAN 20
I would like
Ports in VLAN 10 to communicate among ports in Vlan 10 and also to access VLAN1
Ports in VLAN 20 to communicate among ports in Vlan 20 and also to access VLAN1
Ports in VLAN 10 & VLAN 20 cant communicate with each other
Is there a simple way to do this. The only way I see is to:
Create IP Vlans and assign ports, enable routing, assign my end devices a gateway as the VLAN IP its connected to.
This allows inter vlan routing.
I assume I then need configure ACLs to control what VLANs can communicate based on source/destination subnet?
Is there a way to do this based on just port ID. i.e. allow port 2 & 3 to talk to 1 and each other, and 4 &5 to talk to 1 and each other.
Suppose my end devices have multiple IPs in various subnets assigned to their NICS, and I want these devices to talk among each other and also the device attached to vlan1?
Hope that makes sense.
Thanks

Even if asked mny times in the wrong section, a GS108Tv3 isn't a Manged Switch class model, much more a Smart Switch to be discused in the Plus and Smart Switches community section please.
Please also understand these switches will do short cut L2+L3 switching+routing, in no ways, these are competing with what you would do on a sophisticated security appliance (in a much more user friendly way - this is more what you should look for IMHO) or a fully managed switch to achieve the same (in a very technical and user unfriendly way).

Hello JonesNG,
And welcome to the NETGEAR Community! 🙂
The only implementation I can think of that suffice your plan is Routing Vlans and IP ACL which you already have mentioned. One other solution that may be possible is to implement private Vlans, however this is only supported on Layer 3 switches. For your configuration of Vlans and ACLs, you can use the link below. Page 265 is for routing vlans and page 404 for IP ACL implementation.
