Do the Netgear GS716T switches support 3rd party sfp transceivers??

No. Netgear does only support Netgear original SFP modules as referred in the switch data sheet.
GS716T exists as GS716Tv1, GS716Tv2, GS716Tv3, GS716TP or GS716TPP.
in general, Netgear does not enforce any specific brand or model by comparing model strings in the module config. Keep in mind that only a certain tech might be implemented while others might never become operational.
