Prosafe 8 port switch model GS108v3 firmware issue
I need the orginal factory firmware that came with the GS108v3 8 port switch. The Pro Safe configuration software identifies it as model GS108E* but the model number on the switch itself is GS108v3. ...

I was suprised as well and it did have a web management interface which according the specs it shouldnt have. I went and ordered a new GS108e managed switch today to replace it for peace of mind so I am gtg.

Welcome to the community!
It is quite hard to know what firmware version the switch came with since they are manufactured on different dates. You'll have to match the manufacture date on the date the firmware was released. If you can PM me the serial number of your switch I can look up the correct model number. The ProSafe Plus Configuration Utility may not display the version of the switch, just the model number. I don't see version v1.0.0.6 on the download site, where did you download that version?

Thanks for the reply. How do I private message you through the forum or do you want me to email you separately? I got the 1.0.0.6 firmware from the Netgear website for model GSS108e as that was what the ProSafe software identified it as. I am surpised that even tried to install it as it is clearly not the model I have. The version of firmware that was on the device prior to that was1.0.0.0 which I assume was the orginal factory installed version.

You can click on my avatar and it will take you to my profile, then you'll have the option to send me a private message. I see, GS108v3 and GS108e are two different units. That may be the reason why it was corrupted, does the ProSafe Utility show up firmware 1.0.0.6?

I just sent the serial to you via pm. I cant see anything related to the firmware or other settings in the Prosafe software other than it is online since the failed upgrade attempt and there is no factory reset button on this model switch unfortunately.
