Prosafe plus Utility & GS116Ev2

Have decided the time was right to check the firmware versions for all my devices.

 

Downloaded Prosafe Plus config util V 2.2.9 from netgear.  It sees my two GS116E's but when I:

  • Select a switch to configure
  • I am prompted for a password
  • I key in the password for the selected device
  • I get told the password is incorrect

I can log into the devices using the credential, just cant via the prosafe util.

 

Is there a reson I can't just use the Firmware Upgrade option in the management interface in each of the switches.  If not then how do I gain access

      Was able to connect and log into the Switches via the util

       

      Tried to use the util to upgrade the firmware and it fails 

      Title Firmware Upgrade

      Firmware Upgrade Failed

       

      1. Logged in
      2. Rebooted device
      3. Re-connected via Prosafe Plus Config Util
      4. Went to Maintenance>Firmware Upgrade
      5. Selected Firmware file extracted from the zip file (GS116E-v1.00.21.flash)
      6. Software after about 30 seconds reports firmware upgrade failed

      I repeated the process with the other GS116E that I have and the results are identical.

      I logged into the Switch via a browser and tried to repeat the process, says "not a lvalid firmware image'

      Have also tried with Firmware update v1.00.20
