Hi, I wanted to set up DHCP snooping, DAI, IP Source Guard on our M5300-52G3. But in the 'Security > Control' Panel I can't found other choice that 'Captive Portal' My M5300 version is '11.0.0....

Hi Arnaud_D
It depends on what SDM template that you use.
System > Management > SDM Template Preference- If you use a template for a multicast environment, then you won't have things like DHCP Snooping, DAI, etc.
- If you use a template for an environment not focused around multicast, then you will have other features like DHCP Snooping, DAI and so on.Depends on what you need to use the switch for - set the SDM template accordingly. SDM templates enable you to reallocate system resources to support a different mix of features based on your network requirements.
You can also change it via the CLI. Page 318 onwards.

Hi again,
I do not believe that it will wipe the config. According the the manual I linked:
"After setting the template, you must reboot in order for the configuration change to take effect."That being said, play it safe!
1. Save your config: Maintenance > Save Config > Save Configuration > tick the box and hit Apply.
2. Export your config: Maintenance > Upload > HTTP File Upload > Select "Text configuration" and hit Apply. This will download the config. Save it somewhere safe. This way you can always easily go back to a previous config.

Ok (I tried with a M4300 the conf wasnt wiped), but I'll save my conf, the M5300 is our primary L3 Switch.
I can see we have some multicast traffic (STP obviously) but no multicast configuration.
So here a dumb question if I set my SDM to 'without multicast support', it wont drop the multicast traffic, no ?
Thanks again

Hi Arnaud_D
No, it will not cause the switch to drop or somehow block multicast traffic. The difference with regards to multicast, in those SDM templates, is that in the template focused on multicast you have more multicast configuration options. Especially for multicast routing.
If you are not using mcast routing, then don't worry. Feel free to change the template :)
Cheers
