S3300s and M4300's shutting down ports becoming unresponsive to gui

Hello,

I have a number of clients who have been running fine for years but it lately is becoming an issue that ports are getting shut down - 3 differnet locations - 3 totally unrelated clients.   2 within the last month have the issue coming up.   I'll go to the device view and see some ports are in red.   One of them even though traffic was passing to workstations I couldn't get on the switch GUI until I rebooted.

I don't think this is a physical loopback issue as I asked and they don't have any little switches.

The logs don't seem to hold much info or make it easy for someone like me to diagnose the issue.   Any settings I should turn on to check for a loopback or something like a DOS attack and hopefully automatically re-enable the port after a given amount of time has past?
