Seeing a security viloation on port security where device MAC seems to be case sensitive

Have enabled single MAC port security on switch and get security violations with some types of devices.

These devices seem to present their MAC address in lower case when booting up and in bootloader mode, then during full startup seem to present MAC address in a different case.

My understanding is that the MAC address is a hexadecimal number and not an actual string. Why would switch flag the mac as violation?

We moved the devices over to a couple of Cisco switches and did not get that violation trap.

Is there any way to make the switch not case sensitive to MACs ?
