Tivo Mini Shuttering on 10GBE Network Using ProSAFE 10-Gigabit Ethernet XS708T Switch

Summary: I recently added two Netgear ProSAFE 10-Gigabit Ethernet XS708T switches to my homenetwork and the second I did that my Tivo Mini's starting shuttering. The signal would freeze up and just become unwatchable in the bedrooms of my house. I upgraded to the latest firmware and then keep all of the other settings out of the box. No adjustments what-so-ever. I don't need a complex network with VLANs, etc. I just wanted to use this switch as a dumb switch, even though it offers much more.

Details: Here is my BEFORE network topography:  PF Sense Router > Cisco SG100-16 > Upstairs Computers/Tivo Minis and also another Cisco SG100-16 > Downstairs Computers/Tivo Bolt+. Everything was hunky dory and working perfectly in this setup, but was just limited to 1Gbps transfer speeds between computers.

Then I added two Netgear ProSAFE 10-Gigabit Ethernet XS708T switches to my network (one upstairs and one downstairs) and things went sideways. The new setup went something like this:

PF Sense Router > Netgear ProSAFE 10-Gigabit Ethernet XS708T (Upstairs) > For all my 10GBE Upstairs Computers and then daisy chaining that connection to > Cisco SG100-16 (upstairs) > Tivo Mini and other IoT devices that don't require 10Gbe speeds (upstairs) and then another port to my other Netgear ProSAFE 10-Gigabit Ethernet XS708T (Downstairs) > For all my 10GBE Downstairs Computers and then daisy chaining that connection to > Cisco SG100-16 (Downstairs) > Tivo Bolt+ and other IoT devices that don't require 10Gbe speeds (downstairs).

I have tried to simplify the network and then add each device one by one to see what the issue is and I've tried playing around with settings on the Network switch but had zero luck.  I thought it might have something to do with flow-control, but I didn't have any success. Any ideas on what might be causing this problem?

    Hi gladlock96 ,

    Welcome to netgear community!

I have read your posts and there some suggestions below:

1.Suggest to enable flow-control on all ports of xs708t.

2.By default XS78T's all ports are belong to vlan1.So if your use xs708t at default settings all ports are in vlan1.

therefore need to check whether Cisco SG100-16 and PF Sense Router are in vlan 1 or not.

If possible ,you can also send me your configuration files about xs708t, Cisco SG100-16 and  PF Sense Router

for xs708t you can refer to "http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31438"

    Hope it helps
