Beginner plugging in switch for first time - most ports aren't recognized, going through settings
Nothing works. :( I feel like a consumer at Best Buy. Wait....
I have my router plugged into my XS728T switch. I also have many items plugged in. However only three to four things are seen.
Now I've monkeyed with the settings. I'm at the point of a factory reset but I came to the community first.
All of the devices i have plugged in are recognized by my dumb 1G switches but not the smart 10G switch.
Perhaps there's out there some PDF that show various optimal setting configs? You know, like this set up is for people who don't care about VLAN. This set up is for people who care about multicasting cameras and NDI. This config doesn't care about security at all. This one is best....
I've included a ton of screen shots of the monkeyed-with settings. Embarrassing. Any ideas?
Very brief - excellent ollection of screenshots - so I'll ry to answer::
- Only 1, 2, 7, 9 and 25 seem to have active links.
- 9 seems to be disabled by STP or the like - loop?
- All (or almost all) ports seem to have cables attached.
Simple guess: Are the devices where you get no links 10 Mb/s or 100 Mb/s devices? The XS728T and XS748T models only support 10GBASE-T copper supporting 10G/1G speeds.

Sombody nailed it! Thank you so much. They were all 10/100.
If I were to look for somebody to come in and make my settings work for what I need where would I look? Not Craig's List, right? Or ...

Afraid, nothing anybody can do - it's a hardware limitation on these early Netgear (about the 2nd generation of affordable) 10G switch models. The PHY chip on each Ethernet channel is (or was at the time of design) a major cost factor.
