Can bootloader be updated? Netgear Switches

Hi,

I have multiple GS108Ev3 switches that have different bootloader versions. How can I update them all to the latest?

I also have a GS110EMX switch and a XS716T switch that I would like to update the bootloader version.

I have updated the firmware version on all switches but does not affect the bootloader versions. Also, the multiple GS108Ev3 switches I have display different bootloader versions despite being exact same model and firmware version.

Thank you

  • Are you actually trying to fox some problem or are you just concerned about bootloader versions?

No, to my knowledge, you can't update the bootloader on switches.

Hi, not concerned. Just wanting to use latest version and found it odd that the same model switches use different versions and saw no way to update them.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge, especially when they don't have anything to do with routers. Switches for example.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Switches - NETGEAR Communities

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
