GS108Tv2 Switch Does Not Have Internet Access
I am unable to connect to the internet from any computer that has an ethernet connection to the switch I am not able to access the admin portal from the default address of 192.168.0.239. I have reset...
- Mar 21, 2022The switch is powered normally with its power cord leds show normal double green lights for full network speed. I have resolved the issue. I was only resetting the switch with the reset button. I did not notice on the front right there was a factory reset button separate from the reset button so it was retaining its previous settings as I bought it used. When I reset with the reset button it just retains those settings. It is working great now!

Welcome to the community! 🙂
If you connect a PC directly hardwired to your R6900P router, are you able to access any webpage? If not, then this is why you do not have internet access through your GS108Tv2.
The admin page for the router is 192.168.1.1 could this be causing a different subnet issue for the switch? I have attempted the solution provided here https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-Switches/No-Internet-After-Connecting-GS808E-Switch-to-Router/m-p/1438586 but this does not work what should I try from here?
The IP address of the R6900P router is 192.168.1.1 and since you attempted the solution indicated on this old forum thread here, what is the IP address you have assigned to your GS108Tv2?
What is the current firmware version of your GS108Tv2?

Hi Dane,
Thanks for taking a look. Yes I have normal connection with the router and an ethernet connection to my PC. I cannot find an ip for the switch I never assigned one so I would have assumed that it would have assigned one via DHCP and been able to see it on the router but I can’t. I also attempted to find it on the default 192.168.0.239 but it does not appear even when resetting the switch. I don’t believe I will be able to see the firmware version without being able to access the admin page unless you have another suggestion for doing so.

How is the switch powered?
The power LED is on?
The link LED (on the GS108TVs both for a GbE link) shows the correct link speed?

Of course, random VLAN and port configs are easily prohibiting the usage as a plain L2 switch.
