GS110TP bricked - help needed

Hello

I tryed to upgrade firmware of my gs110TP from 5.0.5.7 to latest at the moment 5.4.2.30.

I downoloaded 5.4.2.30 using TFTP as image2, activated it and rebooted switch

After reboot I can't connect or even ping my switch. I did it remotelly and at the moment I can't say what LEDs showing.

Before I started I read Release notes and there wasn't any warning about upgrading from prevoius versions. What I did wrong?

Is there any special intermidiate firmware to jump from 5.0.x to 5.4.x?

Help me please

Regards

Slawek

    Hello slv_slv,

It will be advisable to open a case with Netgear support for a hardware check. It seems your device failed on a firmware update and gone faulty.

  • Hi,

I have very similar situations, but after restart my switch doesn't work.
Do you know how upgrade this device via Console port?

Cold boot does not regain operations?

Officially, Netgear does not support using the (existing) serial port - in the box, on the PCB. Have an eye here in case you are willing (or need) to go this way, instead of sending the switch to service or replacement.

Many Netgear switch models are coming with a limited life time warranty (so some conditions apply - time in years since a product is EoL, first owner, proof of purchase, registration). Start this here on https://my.netgear.com select your switch from the list of registered products, and click on [Request Hardware Support].

      FMI: LIMITED HARDWARE WARRANTY

Power off and power on solved my problem.

      Hi slv_slv,

      Welcome to the community!

Thank you for sharing this on the community! Sometimes rebooting the switch resolves the issue. But take note that we cannot reboot the switch while it is on progress of doing an upgrade.
