GS305E and VLANs
I'm trying to get a GS305E switch configured for VLANs. The VLANs at the port on the router to which this switch is connected are 5 (main one) and 7. I need to configure this switch so that VLAN 7 ...
I'm trying to get a GS305E switch configured for VLANs. The VLANs at the port on the router to which this switch is connected are 5 (main one) and 7. I need to configure this switch so that VLAN 7 is the only one available at ports 2-5.
Is the issue that you can't get into the web management page? Or that you need help with the config once you get there?

Then why are you bringing VLAN 5 to the switch?
If all the client ports on the GS305E are on VLAN 7 then you actually don't need to set up VLANs at all on this switch. All you need to do is to connect to an upstream switch/router port that is untagged and only in VLAN 7.
I think that means only one "plus" switch model (the GS108Ev3).

And that's exactly one of these early Microcontroller based Plus switch generation with IP address and a Web UI, which does neither support non-tagged frames for the administration nor any non-default MTUs.
Clearly, the Web UI resp. the IP stack can't be reached over a fully all-tagged trunks as you claimed before. Sorry.
And for the same reason, it can't be discovered by NSDP based L2 discovery applications like the Netgear Switch Discovery Tool nor by the legacy utilities like the ProSAFE Plus Utility over a fully tagged trunk. Only untagged frames can reach and discover these.

Well, it does work for me - I have no problem reaching the GS108Ev3 with the trunk fully tagged.

Wonder how ... considering the GS108Ev3, GS308E (and the very similar GS105E, GS305E) don't have any VLAN support on the very basic IP stack.
Beyond, none of the mentioned switches can be discovered by the NETGEAR Discovery tool here, not even in a flat network. Only the Plus Utility can. The Web UI is reachable on the very same IP subnet.

No way of knowing exactly how it works, but it does.

I just checked - the discovery tool finds the GS728TPv2 and the GS510TP, but not the GS108ev3. This is using a PC connected to my Orbi wifi - I'll double-check ethernet later today, and post back if the results differ.
