GS308T Issue to create VLAN via GUI

I am sure I miss something but I am not even able to simply create / declare a VLAN.

Here are my steps also illustrated with an image :

1) I enable VLAN Assignment Mode in Security - Port Authentication

2) I go to VLAN Advanced configuration, try to Add a VLAN but the interface does not accept a VLAN ID, only VLAN name can be entered.

There is no error, just the action button "ADD" does not switch to active

My guess is that I miss one step before being able to create the VLAN but I do not see anything special as prerequisites in the user manual.

Anybody faced the same issue before ?

I could not find a post with so basic issue so I guess I am the only one not able to figure it out.

Firmware : 1.5.0.7

Ok so, what is a workaround for that is using a numerical keypad.

The field VLAN ID does not accept other input, I tested on another machine with external keyboard and there the numerical keypad is recognized but using regular numerical keys does not work either.

Thanks a lot for your guidance schumaku, much appreciated !

Looks like the wrong view to Add a VLAN. Could not tell you right away without a switch to show, added post after I came home:

Have just an example of adding the VLAN 123 on a GS308E in Advanced 802.1q Mode - it's very similar in the other modes and models.

    1. Head to the VLAN Configuration (here Advanced 802.1q mode):

Type the VLAN number to add in the VLAN ID input text field, then click [Add]

    2. Head to the VLAN Membership

Select the VLAN just added, then you can assign the membership by clicking the port mode.

    3. Last but not least, don't forget to define the PVID

Select the ports to define the PVID, type the VLAN ID, and use [Add]

    Hope this clarifies 8-)

    Have fun!

PS. Will ask a moderator to move this post away from the Managed Switches section, should be in the Plus and Smart Managed section instead.

Sorry for my confusion, it should not make any difference on the GS308T, both VLAN and name should be add-able, in both Basic and Advanced view:

Thanks a lot for the attempt !

I tried to play with the views as well but still the VLAN ID field does not accept any input, I still think I miss the way to enable the creation of VLAN somehow but it is not to be found in user manual.

        I will continue to investigate.
