I had the same problem. Finally solved it.
Open a command prompt as administrator.
Run:
netsh interface ipv4 add neighbors "Ethernet" 192.168.0.3 a0-63-91-89-1f-da
Replace "Ethernet" with the name of your windows 10 network connection, 192.168.0.3 with the ipaddress of your GSS108E and a0-63-91-89-1f-da with the MAC-address of your GSS108E.

thank you for the fast responses. Indeed it was the netsh command that helped. Now the firmware was updated and the switch is responsive again.
