GSS116E and GSS108E daisy chaining
Greetings.
This is what I have that works:
FiOS Modem (DHCP) >>> Cisco DS2008 (8port) >>> Apple 3Tb timecapsule ~~~ wifi ~~~ Apple 2TB timecapsule >>> GS116Ev2
What I want is
FiOS Modem (DHCP) >>> Cisco DS2008 (8port) >>> GS108Ev2 >>> Apple 3TB timecapsule
\ >>> GS116Ev2 >>> Apple 2TB timecapsule
What I connect the cable to from the DS2008 to the GS116Ev2 all comms to the GS116 seems to get lost. If I disconnect 200 foot cable that I ran from the DS2008 then after 30 sec or so I have connectivity again.
I do not believe that the GS have uplink ports, and looking at the NetGear prosafe plus config utility that there are any special settings for uplinks or daisy-chaing.
I have also tried starting the GS116 network from a cold boot thinking that the DHCP setting would have to get resync'd
I found that the cable from the 2TB timecapsule was the issue. I removed the cable from the GS116E and the network conflict went away!
The 2TB timecapsule is still on the network, but now just using wifi and not an RJ45.

thanks for sharing bs89909 , looks that the cable was creating a network loop!
