JGS524Ev2 won’t factory reset with paper clip. Can’t apply any changes in management

Hello,

I would be grateful for some help. I was thinking I would update the firmware to the latest version but when I log on to the switch the apply button won’t highlight or do anything. I tried to reset the switch to factory settings using a paper clip as per instructions. But it won’t reset and I cannot make any changes. Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Certain browser disallow submitting passwords (and probably more) on simple http connections and http forms as required by these very basic WebUI on the Plus switches.

Hi there schumaku, thank you for the reply.

I can access the management WebUI with my password ok. But when I am in the WebUI, and having selected something like... say Firmware upgrade for example, the  apply button won’t highlight or do anything. I tried to reset the switch to factory settings using a paper clip as per instructions. But it won’t reset and I cannot make any changes?

I have searched to see if there is a solution but cannot find an answer for this problem anywhere! Is there something I'm missing?

      Thank you.

Is this after selecting the firmware file (of course permitting you had unzipped the archive before, storing on the local PC or Mac?

  • Hello again schumaku,

I was just about to reply, but thought I would just log back in to the WebUI to check again if I could make it work.

A strange thing happened! I noticed that the cancel and apply buttons were partly off the bottom of the screen... So I decided to reduce the zoom level of the monitor to see if they became fully visible...

Amazingly, the entire WebUI layout changed and all of the management functions became available!

I am pleased to report that I have been successful in updating the firmware and we are now on the newest version.

Thank you for your help indeed.

I wish you all the best and take care.
