Netgear Discovery tool 2.0.7.0 no longer finding my 5 switches.
I have used the utility many times before. Sometimes I have to run it twice to get results. Now it doesn't find anything. I can ping them all by IP, I can get into them via web and they are all...

Thank you for the reply StevenB. Yes, I should've mentioned that I did disable antivirus and firewall and still had no results.

Another thing you might try is connecting the PC with ethernet instead of WiFi.
The discovery method uses a broadcast protocol, and sometimes the router doesn't forward the broadcast packets across different network segments (e.g., wifi <-> ethernet).
Power-cycling the switches is another thing you might try.

Afraid, this is wrong, appears you still think in the old NSDP ways... (Wiki:
Netgear Switch Discovery Protocol ).
NDT is making use of SSDP, which is based on (Wiki:
Simple Service Discovery Protocol ), multicast addressing to a specifically designated IP multicast address at UDP port number 1900. In IPv4, the multicast address is 239.255.255.250, and SSDP over IPv6 uses the address set ff0x::c for all scope ranges indicated by x.

StephenB, I guess I should've mentioned that too. I am wired directly to the 8 Port in dining room GS108EV4 which is wired directly to the other 4 switches.
My other utility fines the switches by MAC just fine from the same computer. I don't think it's a broadcast protocol issue.
I did power cycle the switches.
Attached is a copy of the NGDT output, and my ping scanner output.- schumakuFeb 12, 2026Guru - Experienced User

NDT does discover nothing, while ping is workable - please read my first reply in your thread here again plaase.

Does windows have the network set to private?

So most likely your Windows system is blocking some protocols (like SSDP) essential for the NDT. For example because of the Windows network adapter is set to a Public, instead of a Private network.
You still can ping any devices on your LAN,the replies will come back as expected. Similar, you can continue to reach any Web pages out there on the wild Internet -and- on your LAN - for example the switches. Same for any kind of an unspecified. All unrelated to the problem you are facing, isn't it?
