Netgear GS105e mismatch

Starting the cable tester it gives a mismatch (Cable Fault Distance 6 meters) at port 1.  The other cables are OK.  After replacing the networkcable between the switch and my router (Sagemcom F3896LG) the same problem. Even when the networkcable is the only one in the switch.

Please help

  • Yes. Port 4 was the problem. Now 2 x Netgear GS 105ev2  at Ports 1 and 3 of the router and 1x Netgear GS108ev4 at port 4 of the router. Port 2 of the router one cable directly to a computer.  Now everything works without mismatches.

    thanks for hor help.

Do the other working cables show same thing in port 1 if connected to port 1 and tested?

Connected the cable that would be connected to port 1 and connect it to port 5 and see if problem follows.

What CAT# LAN cable are you using ? CAT6 UTP is recommended.

Thanks for your reaction. Also other cables in Port 1 of the switch show the same fault. Connecting the cable to port 5 alle the same.

when using another port of my router, the problem is solved. I can’t explain why.

So ports 1 and 5 show the fault but 2,3 and 4 don't?

        Does factory reset change anything?
