I've plugged the cable directly from the ISP router into my PC and the problems persist. Therefore I conclude that it's not the switch that's acting up. Neither is it the socket in my PC, as my GF has the same issues. I will contact my ISP again with some new info to see if the problem lies on their end.

I'm confused by this, since port 3 is passing the cable test, but the GF/Switch is not negotiating gigabit. Which it should be doing. Can you clarify which issues you mean?
The app performance issues might be due to your ISP, but there still is something going on with your ethernet that should be fixed.
