Macbook no UP status

Turned out to be faulty Ethernet wall socket. All good now.
Lot of variables in play. First, please always include the firmware in place on any of these switches.
It's known that these tiny uC controller in place can be easily overloaded when e.g. flow control enabled (what was the default on early firmware releases!) can have an negative effect on the throughput.
Then there are many different USB3 Ethernet adaüpters in the market, the quality can vary widely.
