Setting up VLAN

I have setup a VLAN on the firewall for APs. I have untagged the port where the AP is plugged into. My question is do I need to tag the port for the VLAN in the port where it gets internet from the firewall in order to work.

For example, using port 24 as the port from the firewall and port 1 for the AP. I untag port 1 from vlan 1 and change the vlan to 10 and click untag for port 1. Also i would tag port 24 with vlan 10.

Is this correct?

What ever you want to achieve and configure, it's up to you to define a design for your network.

One factor might be the AP models an capabilities, and finally the simplicity of the operation scheme intended.

In full business-class environments, you might want to operate all VLAN (for the management network as well as all SSIDs mapped to dedicated VLANs. So all VLANs and subnets connecting to the APs are tagged on a trunk.

In  more home or smaller SMB network, you might consider to keep the management VLAN untagged, while the other SSIDs and subnets will be operated tagged.

When operating -one- VLAN untagged, keep in mind the port must not be an untagged member on another VLAN, nd the PVID must be defined accordingly so untagged frames are assigned to that specific VLAN.
