The reason is the design and implementation of the NSDP protocol, based on pure L2 broadcast - blocked for whatever reasons on your Wi-Fi. This isn't a Netgear problem 8-)
SCC is obsolete for years, and strongly depreciated due to known security risks.
Further on, the Adobe AIR platform used for SCC development and runtime ended on 31 December 2020.
Said this: SCC is end-of-life. https://www.netgear.com/support/product/smart%20control%20center%20(scc)
This is why Netgear disabled SCC by default on all Smart switches a long time ago already.
If you are willing and able to accept the risks and limitation involved, you can re-enable SCC config on your switches, and continue using SCC - as long as it remains operational.

For locating the switch on your LAN, the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool (NSDT) is available for MacOS, Windows, and Linux. Monitoring and management can be done by a standard Web browser accessing the device Web UI. For third-party monitoring applications, SNMP is available, too.
