Trying to connect 2 Netgear GS752TXS switches
I've just purchased two GS752TXS switches and am trying to connect the two via a fiber cable. I'm using AGM731F modules in both units. I can't for the life of me get the fiber to actually work. No...

Hi,
1. Those fibre ports are set to stacking mode per default I think? Are you trying to stack the switches? If not, then change the port mode to "Ethernet" rather than "Stacking" ("Services" --> "Stacking" --> "Stack Port Configuration"). Note: if you change a port mode, you need to reboot the switch for that to take effect.
2. Have you checked the fibre polarity? You need to make sure transmit goes to recieve in the other end - and vice versa. Else it won't work :). This is important!
3. As a side note, you should really be using 10G fibre modules. These are 10G fibre ports aren't they?
Cheers

Well...it was the polarity issue. I swapped the ends of one of the cables and BOOM! Up and running. Also ordered the 10G modules!
Thanks for the assist!
