which switch for DHCP relay / ip helper address
Hello,
i want to buy an netgear switch to do the following:
- 2 vlans (10,200)
- in vlan 200 an dhcp server exsist
- i want only one ip from vlan 200 for the dhcp server
- i want that my clients from vlan 10 get an ip-address from dhcp server in vlan 200
I think i need the option:
ip helper address <IP> dhcp
But i don't know with switch can setup an ip helper addess.
I take a look at the GS108T or GS108E, but i can not verify, that this models can setup an helper address.
Can anyone suggest my an model with 8 port (PoE or not is OK) that can do this?
Greeting and thanks a lot
HL
The Smart Managed Plus models (like GSxxxE) certainly don't have such high end features.
To my knowledge, DHCP L2 relay resp. L3 DHCP relay are features available on the Managed Switch series. Some exceptions might exist when it comes to the Smart Managed Pro models - the XS708T, XS712Tv2, and XS716T for are offering the DHCP L2 relay feature.

There might be others - but you need to check the feature sets resp. the documentation.
GS728TPv2, GS728TPPv2, GS752TPv2 and GS752TPP Data Sheet does show L2 DHCP Relay for example, too.
